These are the common rules to the game. Any issue concerning rulings will be dealt by the head staff. Titles will be color coded.
Bakugan:
This is a forum based on the anime Bakugan. Most Bakugan and cards used here were created by the owner of the show. We take no credit regarding anything in the show.
Objective of the Game:
1) The objective of the game is to eliminate the opposing players 3 main Bakugan.
Game Breakdown
1) Matches: A match is a game between 2-6 players. A match is often referred to as a brawl or game. Matches are started by creating a topic in an area made for brawling in the forum. From there, the players take turns posting their moves or turns.
2) Turns:
A turn is the posting or diologue between the players. Turns are the posts which make up a round. Once a player has posted their turn, they must patiently wait for the other player(s) to make their turn.
3) Rounds:
A round is the collection of all the turns. A round is started with the first player making their move. A round ends once a battle has occured and resolved or when the round player passes their round over to the next player.
4) Battles:
A battle is a brawl between two or more opposing Bakugan. There are many types of battles. Depending on the type of battle, a round will be passed on. Here are the current types of battles.
4A) Close Range Battle:
These type of battle occurs when two or more opposing Bakugan are in the same gatecard. The winner of the battle starts the next round. Bakugan defeated in this type of battle are counted out.
4B) Long Range Battle:
This type of battle occurs when two Bakugan battle from two different gatecards. One Bakugan can participate in one LRB at a time. Long Ranged Battles can be started when an ability allows a player to attack from a distance. The Bakugan that started the LRB cannot be defeated in that type of battle. If both Bakugan use an ability that allows them to attack from a distance, then either Bakugan can be defeated.
5) Bakugan:
Bakugan are the creatures we use to battle with others. During a match, when it is your round you are allowed to play one Bakugan onto the field. You cannot play another Bakugan when it is not your round. You cannot take back your Bakugan from the field to your hand unless you have all of your remaining Main Bakugan on the field. When your Bakugan is defeated they cannot be used unless brought back by a card effect. There are two types of Bakugan.
5A) Main Bakugan:
These are your 3 primary Bakugan. They must be the same attribute. The objective is to eliminate the other players main Bakugan. They can be used until they are defeated.
5B) Secondary Bakugan:
Your Secondary Bakugan can be either a Trap Bakugan or Mechtogan. They can only be summoned once per game. Once they are on the field, they will stay there until they are defeated.
6) Abilities:
Abilities are unique cards that you are allowed to use to aid your Bakugan. In a match 3 regular abilities, 1 Fusion Ability, and 1 Special Ability is allowed per round. These are the three main types of abilities.
6A) Regular Matches:
Most of your abilities are made up of regulars. They can be used in a game up to the number of copies you have in your Brawling Profile or unless they are brought back by a card effect.
6B) Fusion Abilities:
A Fusion Ability that is only used after its combo regular ability. Each Fusion Ability can only be used after a certain ability is played in that round. That certain ability is a different ability for each Fusion. If the certain ability is used in a round that already passed, you cannot use the Fusion Ability that follows it.
6C) Special Abilities:
Special Abilities are extremely powerful abilities that are used once per game no matter what. The Special Abilities can be used whenever a player has a chance and cannot be brought back by any card effects.
7) Gatecards:
Gatecards are the cards that the Bakugan will land on. No Bakugan can be standing in the field without a gatecard under it. A gate card can be opened once it has at least 2 Bakugan standing on it. During the start of each players round, they must set a new gatecard. Once ten gatecards has been set and used up then they are allowed to be reused again.
Disqualification:
There are a few ways a player can get disqualified from a match.
1) Inactivity:
In a ranked match if a player has gone 3 days without responding when it is their turn to respond then they are eliminated. In an unranked match the wait time is 7 days before Disqualification.
2) Rule Breaker:
If a player is caught breaking any rules then he or she will be punished. The punishment may be a game loss or simple suspension. If a player is suspended during a match then the match will count as a victory for the other player(s).
If you have issues or questions please message any of the upper staff or you can go directly to the Ruling Vault section. Once you have understood this part, you may proceed to Step 2.
