Heya fellow brawlers of the Battle World! Hope you didn't miss this kind of threads that much. I just feel it's needed as I have a few questions regarding some of the terms and wording used in several abilities and also as I am not quite sure what do they actually mean, plus I also have some doubts about a few points of the system, points that I kind of felt they were left in the air sometimes and lacked a consistent solution. Allow me to review them, as I feel it's actually needed. I shall try to make it like a sort of FAQ in case in helps for making one, so well, without further add, let's see.
Bakugan - This question might be silly, but what does exactly include the word ''Bakugan''?. Do Secondary Bakugan, also known as Traps and Mechtogan, count towards it? If I activate an effect that affects all ''Bakugan'' or a specific one, can I apply said effect to Traps and Mechtogan too or count them when adding G-Power? If so, might I also pull in my opponent's Secondary Bakugan into a Gate Card with a card effect like ''Choose one enemy Bakugan in their hand and force it out'' claiming that they are also ''Bakugan''?
Effect Immunity - How far do effects like ''cannot be affected by opposing abilities'' go? Can they, for example, protect the user from getting future abilities negated? Can it also protect the user from abilities that were used prior the activation of the immunity, like a simple G-Power decrease or a special effect? Can them be used when prevented to use abilities? Also is there any difference if the wording is different, like in here: ''Any abilities aimed at the user will not work''
Gate Card Removal - When do Gate Cards actually get removed from the field? It's fairly obvious they get removed after a battle performance on them if they were previous opened, but what happens if the Gate Card is never opened? And if the Gate Card is opened and no short-range battle occurs on them? Are they removed as soon as the Bakugan on them move out of it or does the Gate Card stay there blank, without any effect? What happens if the Gate Card is opened and the Bakugan on them are defeated through a long-range battle? Please specify the cases in which it stays and the cases in which they do not.
Multiple Fights at Once - How can we know who is the winner of a round in which several fights occur at once? How do we know who should start the next round with their first turn? What happens if Brawler A wins a long-range battle but loses with the same Bakugan a short-range one? What happens if a Bakugan sacrifices in battle to take down a foe with it? What happens if two or more short-range battle occur at the same time via movement effects and both brawlers win and lose a match? Is there any difference if Brawler A loses a Secondary Bakugan while the other loses a Main Bakugan or Brawler A loses less Main Bakugan than B? How do we know who goes next then?
Pulling in Bakugan - Is there a moment when abilities/gates with the effects ''forces to pull a Bakugan in'' do not work? If the opponent has its whole team out in the field, can you really force the brawler to throw in a Bakugan if it has none in its hand? Are some effects different to others according to the wording like ''choose one enemy Bakugan in their hand and force it out''?
Returning Bakugan to the Hand - When are Bakugan actually allowed or forced to return to the brawler hand? We can return a Bakugan if our whole team is in the field and they obviously return after winning/losing a short-range battle or if specified by a card effect. But is there any other way a Bakugan can move back to the brawler's hands? Like, for example, when said Bakugan wins a long-range battle?
Rounds - What does a ''round'' stand for? Several abilities claim to have effects that last for a few rounds but what is exactly a ''round'' to begin with? Is a whole battle between two or more Bakugan counted as a ''round'', as to when the ability count reset, or is it just each time a brawler takes its ''turn'' to use an ability till they grow low of ability count? It matters to know the actual duration of said effects.
Transfers - Do G-Power transfer count as ''G-Power increase'' or ''G-Power decrease''? There are some abilities that ban the opponent from increasing and/or decreasing G-Power but is it a Transfer counted as neither? While the wording is different it does increase and decrease G-Power in the end, so it would be cool to clarify that.
I think that's pretty much it for now, I will probably come with more questions as they come to my head.
I also have a personal question regarding a specific Gate Card whose effect I can't really understand as the wording makes it a little confusing, so if I might ask:
>> ''It cannot battle'' - Does it then mean it cannot be defeated/killed, since it can't battle? What does ''cannot battle'' actually mean? That it can't engage in battle and just lays there harmlessly, without being able to use abilities or anything at all? What happens if a battle occurs there, it's then defeated or it stays along the Gate Card?
>> ''Counted as defeated for the remainder of this card'' - Remainder of the card? So if the Gate Card leaves the field then the Trap Bakugan returns to the opponent's hand? Or is it only recovered if the Gate Card actually gets negated? The wording sounds so strange here.
>> ''Can only be negated by an ability at any point after its activation'' - So this is an exception for the rule that allows the foe to negate this Gate Card anytime it wishes? Even a round after its activation? Even if the Gate Card leaves the field along the Trap?
>> ''Trap'' - Well this is a silly question, but does this card specifically refers to Trap Bakugan only? Can Mechtogan also be dragged in? I ask because you generally use general terms such as ''round'' and ''Bakugan'' and sometimes they refer to more than it's apparent.
And well that's pretty much it. Thanks in advance and apologize for bothering, but you know, this kind of questions can and will probably appear in battles. At least I will bring them up when they happen. I think most of us can agree that we really don't like having to solve rule issues in middle of a brawl (neither for the moderator or for the player) because a rule was not clear enough and this brawler thought/got something different when reading it. Some rules are fairly obvious and clear and not understanding them with a ''fair amount of reasoning'', like lawyers say, is simply abuse and the player's fault, but I think these questions were not that obvious in my point of view. I don't know if you think otherwise, but they are questions that I would like to get solved still, for the sake of the site. And because I just have a mind to see loopholes when I want to build a strategy and I prefer to get them solved beforehand so I can agree with my foe about these rules and enjoy playing fair and clearly.
